BUMN's largest homecoming event breaks record

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) with 19 state-owned enterprises have broke the record of largest homecoming together with 93,334 travelers to 77 cities in Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi.

A total of 84,845 people leav with buses, 60 people via ships, 8,369 people go with trains, and 60 people with the planes.

State-owned Enterprise Minister Rini Soemarno symbolically release around 25,650 travelers with 513 buses in a record-breaking ceremony of going home together with BUMN in 2016 at the East Parking Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday (30/6).

"Homecoming has been became tradition of urban residents of Jakarta before Eid," Rini said, on Thursday.

However, increasing the number of travelers each year also has the potential to cause congestion and accident on the highway and road.

Besides to strengthen relationship, Rini hope the program going home together with BUMN can give solution to reduce congestion, and also reduce the number of accidents.

So, the Minister received its charter of Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) on the record-breaking going home together from chairman of MURI Jaya Suprana.

On the same occasion, she also handed over three ambulances to state-owned train operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Lebak Police, and Cimahi Police. A total of 19 state-owned enterprises that participated on going home together, comprise of Jasa Raharja as executive coordinator, Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN), PGN, Semen Indonesia, until Telkom.
