REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SEMARANG -- Political scientist from the University of Diponegoro, Teguh Yuwono argued, that  political money will still haunt the local elections simultaneously in February 2017. Money politic is a form of campaign violations. Political money is generally done by sympathizers, or a group of activist or even political party leaders ahead of the day of elections

"Concurrent election regulation does not provide a robust mechanism to stop the practice of money politics," Teguh said in Semarang on Wednesday (15/6) afternoon.

The regulation that was stated in the alumnus of Flinders University in Australia sated that the Law on the Second Amendment of Law No. 1/2015 on Government Regulation No.1 / 2014 on the election of Governors, Regents, and the Mayor. True to assert the democratization within the new revision has not been been made possible on the opportunities of good people and the success to lead the region.

This is due to the dominance of political parties through the selection of candidates for regional head and deputy regional head candidates. In addition, the arrangement through commissions that must be listened to and implemented by the General Election Commission (KPU), which according to him can be interpreted as an simultaneous intervention of political parties within the technical organization of the election.

"While there are regulatory improvements here and there, the substance of the problems encountered are still the same, namely: to be able to produce good leaders and credibility and to stop the negative impact of direct elections, particularly the money politics,” he said.

Government Science Lecturer of University of Diponegoro, Semarang then pointed out that the transportation allowance is an experimental new regulation.

"However, no guarantee money politics will not occur. It could be that the participants of the election is vying for using a means of transport allowances to have it increase even higher than what it is stated in the regulations," he said.
