REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, NORTH MUSIRAWAS — North Musirawas District, Government of South Sumatra is starting to free school fees at the start of the school year of 2016/2017. This is done to ease the burden on parents.
Deputy Regent of North Musirawas H Devi Suhartoni said schools are prohibited from collecting fees from parents. For those who have drawn the illegal monetary fees should be returned to the parents of prospective students.
"If there is a person of interest such as levies, immediately report it to me in full, that person’s name, school and the amount of money received by that person because we will take this seriously. We want the education in North Musirawas to be of quality and integrity," he said.
One of the principals was not willing to be named, said ahead of the new academic year 2016/2017 the school has made the preparation and dissemination to schools for admissions of new student. The procedure for the acceptance will follow instructions deputy regent that waive fees at the beginning of the school entrance as well as outstanding students will be given the award.
For children that are good at sport and other sectors will be a prioritise if they will go into tournament and competition, in which all the costs will be borne by the school.
"In addition, the school will not apply for the costs of Student Activity Sheet (LKS) because it is burdensome to parents every semester due to Parents/guardians being issued with Rp. 300,000 or more," he said.
