REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG -- Malang scheduled to be awarded the new Ministry of Tourism this year as Halal Tourism City. The predicate is a form of recognition for the existence of the culinary world in Malang.

"We will continue working to make the title of the City Tourism Halal acceptable in Malang," said Mayor of Malang M. Anton on Tuesday (7/6). According to him, Malang deserved the title as an expression of the vision of becoming the city's dignity.

Anton also hopes predicate of Halal Tourism City that will be pinned to the city of Malang can increase the potential of the creative economy in the culinary field. "This predicate will create an emergence of new culinary entrepreneurs to support the creative industries in our city," added Anton.

Lombok is the first city in Indonesia, which established itself as the Halal Tourism City. Lombok successfully won the award as Best World Halal Tourism Destinations and World Best Halal Tourism of The World Halal Travel Summit / Exhibition in 2015 ago.

Malang, which will follow into the Halal Tourism City certainly adds to the list of kosher travel choice for tourists, began to witness the growing of sharia hotels and inns to contribute to the atmosphere of the Halal Tourism City within a city of three million people.
