REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Faculty of Product Design University of Pelita Harapan (UPH) students design a bed for their thesis that is specifically targeted to be used for students.

The bed emphasizes space and function for today's students who live in residential that is limited by space and are specialized to have multiple used for a compact environment.

"This product is in accordance with the lifestyle of generations Y and Z that are living in urban areas, with room sizes that are small. Based on these needs, many creative ideas are necessary for the utilization of space and function," said Michael Limahelu, S.Sn, Lecturer Faculty Product Design UPH.

So that the resulting design is not just an image, but can be created as a mass product, UPH cooperation with Comforta. During the four months the parties that represented Comforta Head of Design Silvia Kho, Corporate Product Design Supervisor Richard Santio, and Corporate Brand Manager Timothy Purnomo of Massindo Group, guided the students in the arts in UPH to design the bed product.

"This cooperation is very encouraging, because the students are given creative space so large by Comforta, to realize their design. Starting from just a design to become an actual product," said Michael.

The chairman Juruan Fakukltas Design UPH, Rio Ferdinand, S.Sn, MT said that this cooperation is beneficial to both parties because the students can realize their design and Comforta can get new design ideas to be marketed.

President Director Massindo Group, Jeffri Massie said it is pleased to be supporting the young generation that is full of potential for creative thinking to provide solutions and added value for the community.

"This is consistent with the mission of Massindo Group which aims to improve the quality of family life in society. Cooperation between Comforta with UPH is a synergy that is very positive for the nation's progress," he said in a written statement on Monday (6/6).

The products designed is likely to be marketed well in the Sleep Center. However Comforta make a little bit of improvement to be more in line with the needs of the market.
