REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, GORONTALO -- Marine and Fisheries Minister Susi Pujiastuti has pledged Rp1 billion to Pohuwato District in Gorontalo Province for the procurement of mangrove seedlings, according to the district's Marine and Fisheries Department Spokesman Bahari Gobel.
Gobel remarked here on Monday that the funds will be used for procuring mangrove seedlings and 100 waterwheels for milkfish and vaname shrimp farmers.
"The funds will be disbursed from the State Budget 2016 and will be channeled through the relevant agencies," he affirmed.
Minister Susi visited Gorontalo over the weekend to offer assistance to fishermen groups as part of the program of "Coastal Community Development Project" in the area.
In addition, she donated feed machines and fish feed raw materials worth Rp100 million and gave Rp91 million for training and maintenance of fishing tools.
