REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BALIKPAPAN -- Three people were killed when two speedboats collided in Balikpapan Bay, East Kalimantan Province, on Saturday.
"Another passenger is still missing," chief of the Balikpapan city police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Jeffry Dian Juniarta said on Saturday evening.
Search for the missing passenger was continuing on Saturday evening and rescue workers from the Water Police (Polairud), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), were pressed into service.
All the victims were in the same speedboat, while the driver and a crew member of the speedboat owned by PT Petrosea survived the accident.
The two crew members of the speedboat were undergoing questioning at the PPU police resort.
It is believed that the two speedboats collided due to low visibility.
