Most of Indonesia region will hit by heavy rain and lightning

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA –- Indonesia Agency for Meteorological, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) release forecast weather outlook for the next three days from Thursday (12/5) to Saturday (14/5).

Convergence in the Western Indian Ocean west of Bengkulu cause high humidity in almost all regions of Indonesia.

These conditions favor the growth process of rain cloud in the region.

As a result, some regions in Indonesia potentially experiencing heavy rains in the next three days. These areas are islands of Nias, Mentawai Islands, north western Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan northern, south Kalimantan, and Papua.

There are also some areas that are expected to experience heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning or strong winds (tornados). The region is Jambi, Lampung, Jabodetabek, West Java, Yogyakarta, and Kalimantam east.
