REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM -- Tourism and Culture affairs office of the Riau Islands Provincial city of Batam is optimistic to meet its 1.82 million target of foreign tourist visits to the city during 2016.
"We believe that we will be able to achieve the target of 1.82 million foreign tourists to Batam as part of 12 million target of foreign tourist arrivals to Indonesia (this year)," head of Batam Tourism and Culture affairs office Yusfa Hendri said here on Sunday.
According to him, from January to March 2016, foreign tourist arrivals to Batam rose 10 percent which is an increase of 30,000 visits every month.
The city government has also planned for an increase of foreign tourist visits in November and December in a bid to reach this year's target, Yusfa Hendri pointed out.
