REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG -- Malang-based University of Muhammadiyah (UMM) in the Indonesian province of East Java and the Kasetsart University of Thailand have agreed to cooperate in the agricultural sector, an official said.
"The arrangement has been achieved in view of the excellence that Kasetsart University has in agriculture with the hope of strengthening the academic development concepts applied in UMM," UMM rector Fauzan stated here on Saturday.
With such concepts, in the future every faculty at UMM will have qualified partners from overseas universities. Kasetsart is very famous and known for its advancement in agricultural education.
The cooperation note and the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed at Kasetsart University on Monday (April 11) by the visiting UMM Rector, Fauzan, accompanied by assistant to Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture and Livestock, Henik Sukorini, and assistant to Rector for foreign cooperation, Soeparto.
In September 2016, UMM will send several agriculture experts for a month-long training in agriculture technology.
The results of the training will be implemented on a regular basis in several regions in Indonesia which have partnered with UMM, according to Henik.
