REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Muslimah Division of Hizbut Tahrir (HT) launched an international campaign entitled, "Muslim Youth: the True Pioneers of Change," an activist of Hizbut Tahrir's Women Section For Southeast Asia, Fika Komara, said in a press statement received by Antara here on Saturday.

According to her, the campaign will culminate in an international women's conference in May 2016 in three countries, namely the United Kingdom, Indonesia and Tunisia.

Fika explained that the campaign is aimed to counter the global agenda being propounded intensively by western governments to divert the young Muslims' mind. The western governments, she said, wanted the Muslim youth to accept secularism and liberal systems and western values.

"Thus, the Muslim youth are being sought to be pushed further and further away from their Islamic identity," she said.

She argued that the global agenda to impose liberalism and secular systems on the Muslim youth is being pushed through counter-radicalization programs, secularization of the educational curriculum and also through regulating Islamic schools in Muslim countries. Advertising and entertainment industries showcasing a liberal lifestyle were also part of the same strategy, she said.

This campaign will also highlight the detrimental impact of capitalism and liberalism on young Muslims.

"At the same time, Hizbut Tahrir will propagate the vision of Islam for Muslim young people so that they embrace their identity in thought and deed perfectly," Fika said.

Hizbut Tahrir is a political movement that focuses on the struggle to re-establish the Caliphate, a global Islamic government.

Hizbut Tahrir is growing throughout the Middle Eastern region, including in Africa, in countries such as Egypt, Libya, Sudan and Algeria. Also, Turkey, England, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and other European countries, as well as the United States, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia fall within the ambit of its purpose.
