REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MATARAM -- A subsidiary of the Indonesian flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, PT Citilink Indonesia, will begin Lombok-Jakarta round trip flights to support tourism in West Nusa Tenggara province.
"The Lombok-Jakarta flight will officially start from April 20, 2016," the marketing manager for West Nusa Tenggara region, Dedi Sudarwanto, stated here on Wednesday.
He said the Lombok-Jakarta flight will be twice a day. While one flight will be from Lombok International Airport to Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta, the other will be from Lombok International Airport to Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta.
Airbus A320 planes with 180 passenger seats will be deployed to serve the Jakarta-Lombok flight.
"The lowest fare, for the time being, will be Rp500 thousand per person," he informed.
In addition to serving the Lombok-Jakarta route, Dedi said, Citilink also serves Lombok-Surabaya round trip three times a day.
"The Lombok-Jakarta route has a promising market, and we are optimistic of being able to compete with others," Dedi noted.
Citilink was established in 2001 as a strategic business unit of Garuda Indonesia, and functions as an alternative low cost airline in Indonesia.
Since July 30, 2012, Citilink has been formally operating as a separate business entity from Garuda Indonesia after getting the Air Operator Certificate (AOC).
