REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Home Affairs Minister Tjahjo Kumolo has threatened to discharge officials implicated in bribery by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"Since they are caught red handed (OTT), I will discharge them," he said in a general lecture on political communication at Padjadjaran University in Jatinangpr, West Java, on Wednesday.
He was responding to a report that Subang district head Ojang Sohandi was implicated by the KPK in an act of bribery.
"The presumption of innocence in a corruption case is different when someone is caught red handed," he said.
He added that he has asked for permission from President Joko Widodo to discharge Ojang from the post of Subang district head without having to await a court verdict.
