REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KENDARI -- Kendari city government in Southeast Sulawesi province is supporting the online-based management of Micro Small Medium Businesses (UMKM), an official has said.
"The UMKM players should make use of current information and technology development to introduce their products through the online marketing," local Industry, Trade and Cooperatives Department and UMKM Chief Syam Alam remarked here on Wednesday.
He said that in the era of free market like the current ASEAN community, the players of UMKM should be able to master IT so that their products can be known more widely and more quickly.
"But the UMKM in the system should be ready to play in it, so that when there are orders from customers, the UMKM can immediately meet these needs," he said.
According to him, to increase consumer confidence in online marketing system, it is expected that the incoming orders should be immediately met.
"In this case, the traders should also maintain the quality of the products they sell," Alam said.
He added that to improve the services and maintain the quality of the products in the future, they plan to provide training and monitoring to the UMKM players so that they can make use of technology to improve their businesses.
