REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo needs a solid team to benefit from the momentum of the current improvement in the world's economy, a senior minister said here Thursday.

"So that 2016 will really become a year of economic acceleration, and for that a solid team is needed, a team which is in line with the President, and this is very important," Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Rizal Ramli said at the presidential palace compound after attending a limited cabinet meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution and the Chairman of the National Industrial and Economic Committee (KEIN) Sutrisno Bachir.

There must not be "two suns" in one state, Rizal Ramli said. "Two suns may not be allowed in any state or organization," he added.

Regarding a possible cabinet reshuffle, he said it could possibly disrupt a "turnaround", but if it was done on the principle of one line, he believed no disruption would happen.

The cabinet reshuffle is the President's prerogative, Rizal asserted, however.

Before the presidential election and at the beginning of the current government hopes were high and perception was very positive, but regretfully 10 months later the hope was waning, he said.

"Luckily the negative perception was salvaged by the style of Jokowi's (President Joko Widodo) leadership which is decisive, has common sense and hands on followed by a reshuffle in August," he said.

Since then, the government's policy in the economic sector has been clear, he said. There was a policy initiative and at the final quarter of 2015 a rebound happened to take the economy towards a positive trend.

"The negative perception turned into a positive one and even international perception was positive," he said referring to the arrival of huge foreign delegations which is beyond the tradition.

The Belgian delegation used to bring only 100, but recently it brought a 300-member business delegation, while Japan that used to bring only 300 it came with up to 1,300 members, he said.

"So, there is a turnaround momentum, a momentum for recovery which must be maintained," he said.
