On criminalizing Islam, Busyro urges President to act

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA --  Muhammadiyah Law and Human Rights Chairman Busyro Muqaddas suspected ongoing campaign on criminalization against Islam. Busyro assessed terrorism cases that all this time usually blow up identified as Muslimin.

He urged President Joko Widodo learn from the previous government fault, where they never succeeded to resolve terrorism case that usually associated to Islam. ''Islam has been criminalized. President as the leader should act as soon as possible,'' Busyro said on Wednesday.

He suggested the president summoned ministers to finish the case immediately. Former KPK Commissioner also asks President to form an independent team to evaluate BNPT and Densus 88 work system.

He said criminalize against Muslim happened massive, systematic, and structured. President must be the person that at forefront in defending majority people rights.

Busyro statement about the suspicion does not appear suddenly. Busyro said has long time handle cases of allegedly terrorism against Islam. ''I have been handling the case directly in Palembang, Medan, and Solo,'' Busyro said.

Busyro said Polri work to eradicate terrorism all this time almost failed. This should be as correction to Polri that always use money to silent wrongful arrest terrorism victim
