REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,Berlin -- Indonesia will ease the entry of foreign cruise ships into the country to boost foreign tourist arrivals, according to Okto Irianto, spokesman of the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs

"Any foreign cruise ships wanting to make a stopover in Indonesia can just fill out the online form," Irianto informed Antara London on Friday at the Indonesian pavilion in the ITB Berlin, the world's leading travel trade show in Germany being held on March 9-13, 2016.

Irianto reiterated that Indonesia will ease the entry of foreign cruise ships that make a stopover with thousands of tourists from several different countries.

He noted that facilitating the entry of foreign cruise ships into Indonesia was part of the efforts to support the government's program to realize the target of 20 million foreign tourist arrivals this year.

According to Irianto, the Indonesian Ministry of Culture and Tourism has set a target to facilitate the arrival of 400 foreign cruise ships into the country this year, each with at least five thousand passengers.

Further, he added that the government of Indonesia, in its efforts to increase the number of foreign tourist arrivals, had issued a visa free policy and will ease the entry of cruise ships into the country.
