REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- The Gajah Mada University's Faculty of Culture (FIB UGM) will hold an international cultural festival in the cultural city of Yogyakarta on March 3, 2016, according to Organizing Committee Chairman Mohammad Yusuf.
"The festival is the main event of the 70th anniversary of the FIB UGM and aims to introduce the culture of friendly countries," Yusuf remarked here on Thursday.
He said the ambassadors of friendly countries such as Argentina, France, India, Iran, the United States, and Spain, among others, will be invited to attend and enliven the festival.
Besides the ambassadors of friendly countries, participants from numerous regional governments such as from Bantul, Kulon Progo, Gunung Kidul, Sleman, Yogyakarta, and Boyolali will also enliven the event.
"The international cultural festival will also be enlivened by traditional art performances from friendly countries, and an exhibition of traditional culinary arts, traditional clothing, and traditional musical instruments will also be held," he pointed out.
According to Yusuf, over thousand visitors comprising students, academicians, and representatives of public institutions and foreign communities in Yogyakarta will attend the festival.
