REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Indonesian Navy remains committed to supporting its mission of ushering in world peace by sending maritime task force to join the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Unifil), Naval Chief of Staff Admiral Ade Supandi said.

Supandi made the remarks during a special roll call held on every 17th at the Navy Staff and Command School (Seskoal) in South Jakarta on Wednesday.

One of the several international scale activities undertaken by the Indonesian Navy is its diplomatic function covering a multilateral exercise dubbed Komodo 2016 to be held in Padang, West Sumatra, in April, the naval chief of staff said in his written mandate read out by Seskoal institutional secretary, Colonel Prasetyo.

The activity is part of a series of joint exercises held within the framework of the Western Pacific Naval Symposium and the International Fleet Review, he said.

"Among the highlights of the event which will bring together participants from about 30 countries will be Asean Cadet training, Sail Karimata, Rim of the Pacific (Rimpac) Multilateral Exercise in the United States and Kakadu in Australia," he said.

In this regard, he instructed the rank and file of the Indonesian Navy to ensure the success of the activity by taking an active part in familiarizing the personnel with it in order to improve the Indonesian Navy's image.
