REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Vice President Jusuf Kalla has invited countries to world peace through dialogue" href="http://en.republika.co.id/berita/en/national-politics/17/09/22/owoplw414-41-formula-a-way-to-resolve-rohingya-issue-kalla" target="_blank">foster world peace through dialogue, inclusive relations and peaceful dispute settlement.
All countries should manage internal and regional political stability, Kalla said during his speech at the UN General Assembly held in New York, Thursday.
According to the Vice President, Indonesia will support the UN reform to achieve a strong global institution that will require the synergy of peace situation and related programs.
Besides this, the target of sustainable development and the Paris Agreement on climate change should be implemented in real action.
He added that the UN needed to implement terrorism eradication, radicalism and extremism countermeasures urgently.
The core problems that must be managed by the UN include poverty, unemployment and global illiteracy, he stressed.
The UN should perform both soft and firm actions, such as enforcing the law and participating in the community, Kalla noted.
The Vice President explained how Indonesia had deradicalized more than six thousand terrorists in 72 prisons.
He also reminded the heads of states at the UN General Assembly to be united.
Kalla also demanded support from the other countries for Indonesia's bid to be a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
