Mirna's murderer can be charged with the death penalty

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Head of public relation of Jakarta Police, Senior Commisioner Muhammad Iqbal said murderer in Mirna's death case can be charged with the death penalty

"Heaviest punishment that can be charged to murderer is death penalty.  It was in accordance with Crimal Law," Iqbal said at Jakarta Police headquarters on Wednesday (27/1).

Furthermore, Iqbal explained if Mirna's murder has been pre-planned, it was clearly underlined in the article 340 of Criminal Code.

Article 340 of the Indonesian Criminal Code said whoever involved in pre-planning to eliminate other lives, will be punished with the death penalty or maximum of 20 years in prison.
