REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Corruption Eradication Commission will soon detain RJ Lino, a suspect in a corruption case, an official said.

"Yes, we will arrest RJ Lino soon," Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Deputy Chairman Basaria Panjaitan said after attending a verdict in Lino's pre-trial hearing on a graft case at the South Jakarta District Court here on Tuesday.

The case involved procurement of three quay container cranes (QCC) for state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II.

After the verdict, he noted that the KPK will wait for the process of thorough investigation to be completed.

The sole judge, Udjiati, decided to reject the suit filed by RJ Lino's lawyer.

"RJ Lino's defense cannot be accepted in its entirety, so the appeal is denied," Udjiati said.

Earlier, former president director of state-owned port operator PT Pelindo II, Richard Joost Lino, who has been named a suspect in the corruption case related to the company's procurement of three quay container cranes, had filed a pre-trial motion with the South Jakarta District Court to challenge his name being considered as a graft suspect.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named Lino a graft suspect in the case on Dec. 18.

Investigators of the anti-graft body had found sufficient evidence to charge Lino and name him a suspect, KPK spokesperson Yuyuk Andriati noted.
