REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A fire gutted a residential area in Jembatan Besi area, West Jakarta Municipality, on Tuesday morning, killing four local inhabitants.

"The victims are from one family comprising mother, father and two children," Suparjo, a fire mitigation officer, said.

The fire broke out at 1:15 a.m. and was extinguished at 3:30 a.m.

Tens of fire brigade trucks were deployed to put out the fire suspected to have started due to a short circuit.
