Bomb terror spreads panic in Indonesia stock market

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Bomb terror that spread panic throughout Jakarta gave impact on the stock market. Until the close of stock trading in the first session, Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) fell by 77.86 points or 1.72 percent at level of 4459.32.

"Bomb attack gives effect that the capital markets minus 70 points. It is still in panic selling, whereas it had risen in early in the session," said analyst of Reliance Securities, Lanjar Nafi, Thursday (14/1).

He added, before 10:00 am, sale of shares was still quite optimistic. But, foreign investor had recorded net sell of Rp 200 billion.

"The decline was quite significant. Before bomb attack, it had strengthened in early of the session," he added.

However, these events was assessed to be only for a moment. For the next trade, the sentiment of a possible adjustment of the BI rate was still awaited.
