France asks its citizens in Indonesia to be alert

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- French Embassy in Jakarta asked its citizens to be alert after bomb attack in Sarinah, Thamrin, Jakarta. They also prohibited its citizens to go to the embassy, because it was near to the bomb location.

"The threat of terrorism still occurs in Jakarta, please minimize your trip to the city. The incident is near Sarinah (Jalan Thamrin). Do not come to the Embassy" said a statement on French Embassy Twitter account @FranceJakartaID, Thursday (14/1).).

First bomb attack occurred at 11:00 am at the traffic police post in Sarinah, Thamrin. Of the explosion, one person seriously injured and three civilians become victims.

The second attack took place at 11:15 am at Skyline Building or Djakarta Theatre. I was precisely at Cafe Starbuck. Of the second blast, four victims seriously injured.

"There were only two big explosions," said Head of Public Relations Jakarta Police, Sr. Pol Mohammad Iqbal, in front of Djakarta Theater, Thursday (14/1).
