REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson urged Australians to avoid Sarinah, MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, related to bomb blasts, on Thursday (14/1).

"Media is reporting explosions and gun fire in the area of the Sarinah Mall on Jl Thamrin in Central Jakarta. All Australians should stay clear of these areas, limit their movements and follow the instructions of local authorities," he said through his Twitter account @DubesAustralia.

A series of explosions occurred at Starbuck and Police Station in Sarinah. Explosion followed by a shootout between the perpetrator with the police. A total of six people were killed.
