REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SERANG -- Banten reported a 6.25 percent increase in exports to US$732.88 million in November from US$689.77 million in the previous month.

The increase in the export value in November was attributable to 6.34 percent rise in the exports of commodities other than oil and gas to US$732.43 million from US$688.76 million in October that year, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said.

Exports of oil and gas dropped 55.47 percent to US$0.45 million from US$1.02 million, head of the regional office of the agency Syech Suhaimi said here on Monday.

The province exported only oil products as it has no production of crude oil and gas.

Its main export commodities are footwear, plastics and plastic goods, Suhaimi said, adding its other non oil/gas export commodities include steel, paper and knitted materials.

Footwear accounted for the largest part of export valued at US$42.21 million.
