REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAYAPURA --- Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Jayapura, Papua, was targeting 4,500 investors to be invest in the region in 2016. Head of BEI Jayapura, Aditya Krishna Payokwa said, in early 2016 BEI targeted to increase number of investors from the previous year.
"We are targeting 4,500 investors in Papua in 2016," he said, in Jayapura, Tuesday (5/1).
He revealed, there were many programs that would be done by BEI Jayapura in 2016, and one of them was target of 4,500 investors. He acknowledged, Papua and West Papua regions were very promising for investors.
"We plan to open a representative office also in West Papua, because each province should have one representative office," he added.
According to him, if there is representative office in West Papua, people will be interested in knowing about the stock market and even becoming investors. This target, he continued, could not be separated from educational program on capital markets given by BEI Jayapura for public who want to know and learn about the stock market.
"Educational program always opens every year, so that people can know about the stock market and even become investors," Aditya said.
