Minister: Israel violates international law

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno LP Marsudi said Israel has violated international law. The statement was delivered in International Conference on Jerusalem in Jakarta, Monday (14/12).

"Israel continues to carry out attacks in the occupied territories. This is a clear violation of international law," she said, Monday (14/12).

She asserted that Israeli occupation in Jerusalem should not be continued because it threatened international legal order. caused tension between countries, and created instability of the Middle East region. Indonesian position on East Jerusalem was very firmly, that provided support and it would not change.

"This is in accordance with 67/19 General Assembly resolution of the United Nations (UN) on 29th November 2012," she added.

Retno also asked that the UN resolution on Jerusalem status quo could be Palestinians' ultimate solution.
