REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- Nine Bali traditional dances were set to become World Intangible Cultural Heritage in UNESCO meeting in Namibia, Africa, 2nd December 2 2015.
"Nine Bali dances are set as Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity UNESCO, at 09:35 pm," said Head of Department of Culture Bali, Dewa Putu Beratha, Wednesday (2/12).

Dewa Beratha said the information was obtained from short messages sent by Deputy of Coordination of Education, Youth and Sports, Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture, Dohardo Pakpahan.
Nine Bali dances that were set as World Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, among others, Barong Ket Dance, Joged Bumbung Dance, Legong Keraton Dance, Drama Wayang Wong Dance, Drama Gambuh Dance, Sidhakarya Mask Dance, Baris Upacara Dance, Sanghyang Dedari Dance, and Rejang Dance.
"We are very happy and thankful with this determination," he added.
In the UNESCO meeting Bali dances from Indonesia was in number 18 of the total 35 countries, who proposed culture heritages to UNESCO.
"The nine dances also represent the whole dances in Bali, looking at the concept of history, function, and style of dance," he said.
