REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- PT Pertamina (Persero) established cooperation with 11 producers of biodiesel or biofuel for fulfillment of demand in November 2015 until April 2016.

"This cooperation is a real step of Pertamina to comply with government rules about government policy on biofuels," said Vice President Corporate Communications of Pertamina, Wianda Pusponegoro, at Pertamina Central Building, Jakarta, Friday (20/11).

She said the government has decided biodiesel for mixture of diesel by 15 percent in 2015 and 20 percent in 2016. From the cooperation, Pertamina will get a supply of 1.84 million kiloliter (KL) of biodiesel.

Meanwhile, Director of Marketing and Commercial Pertamina, Achmad Bambang, said that this contract will be effective on Friday (20/11) until April 2016. Bambang also appreciated the 11 biodiesel producers in supporting Pertamina and government's programs.

He revealed, until now Pertamina has distributed biodiesel with percentage of fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) by 15 percent. Total absorption of FAME until 31st October 2015 reached 300 thousand KL. It was targeted to reach 966,785 KL by the end of 2015, equivalent to 5.98 million KL of biodiesel.

In addition, he also predicted the volume of FAME that will be absorbed by Pertamina will reach 5.14 million KL or equivalent to 26 million KL of biodiesel. It consisted of 2.7 million KL for the needs of public service obligation (PSO) or subsidized fuel, 1.26 million KL for the needs of power generation, and 1.12 million KL for the needs of non-PSO.
