REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- A State-Owned Enterprise, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, would soon launch digital technology aircraft, namely N219. Aircraft with a capacity of 19 passengers would be launched on 10th November.
"The N219 aircraft is the regeneration of our seniors who are going to retire," said Director of PT Dirgantara Indonesia, Budi Santoso, Sunday (1/11).
He said, the designer of aircraft N219 was engineers from Indonesia. The N219 aircraft was the latest technology of PT DI, namely digital technology.
"The N219 follows new technologies which are all digital. The production was no longer using a prototype as N250," Budi added.
Related to the marketing, Budi said PT DI would not yet provide an offer, because the aircraft still needs for pilot tests. However, he revealed that the cost of the aircraft was about 5 million US dollars, equivalent to an aircraft in Canada.
Meanwhile, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Yuddy Chrisnandi hoped that N219 aircraft could be soon produced. According to him, the aircraft is suitable for regions such as Papua, which can only be traversed by air.
