40 illegal Indonesian women workers repatriated from Egypt

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID -- CAIRO -- A total of 40 women workers who were working illegally in Egypt, were repatriated to Indonesia for free, by Indonesian government expense.

"It's been 40 migrant workers enrolled, 30 of them will soon be returned after obtaining an exit permit of Immigration office of Egypt," said Head of Information and Cultural Affairs of Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Lauti Nia Astri Sutedja, Saturday (24/10) night.

Since last September, Indonesian Embassy in Cairo opened a post registration for over stayers (who do not have a visa or residence permit) and undocumented (who do not having travel documents) migrants.

Lauti explained, when they arrived in Indonesia, the migrants were scheduled to be picked up by Criminal Investigation Police, BNP2TKI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all of them which are within Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture.

"Migrant workers repatriated will be sent to House of Recovery and Trauma Center (RPTC), and later they will be trained of multiple categories of micro and small enterprises, such as saloon, shop, crafts, foods, and beverages," she added.
