REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Some of Australia's breakthrough fashion designers will showcase their latest collections at the Jakarta Fashion Week 2016 (JFW), being organised this week, the Australian Embassy said on its official website on Friday.
Following the success of Australian designers at recent Indonesian fashion events, Australia is proud to present Melbourne-based designers Pageant, Indonesia-born Haryono Setiadi and Rahul Mishra, winner of the prestigious International Woolmark Prize.
Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson said Indonesia's creative industries and a growing appetite for high end fashion have created a fertile environment for the next generation of young designers to meet manufacturers and retailers.
Pageant is known for its use of futuristic textiles combined with sporty staples and sculptural pieces. Designer Kate Reynolds returns to Jakarta to showcase her new collection at the opening show at JFW on Saturday, 24 October 2015.
Haryono Setiadi, who now calls Sydney home, will present his latest collection from his ready-to-wear Diffusion line at the Dewi Fashion Knights event on Friday, 30 October 2015, where Rahul Mishra will also show his inspired use of Australian.
