KPK arrests faction secretary of Hanura Party, Dewie Yasin Limpo

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested seven people who were suspected of committing corruption, Tuesday (20/10). One of them was a member of Commission VII of House of Representatives from Hanura Party, Dewi Yasin Limpo.

"It is true we arrested and secured six to seven people. They were suspected in involving a member of parliament," said Acting Deputy Chairman of KPK, Indriyanto Seno Adji, Tuesday (20/10).

Dewie was known as faction secretary of Hanura Party in House of Representatives. She was also a younger sister of South Sulawesi Governor, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.

However, it was unclear yet the reason Dewie was arrested by KPK. However, in this arrest, KPK also seized billions of rupiah as evidence.

Indriyanto said, all evidences had been taken to KPK building to undergo an examination by KPK investigators. Within 1x24 hours, KPK would determine the legal status of the seven suspects who became the examinee.

"I do not get any information again in order not to interfere the inspection process," he added.

Dewie along with six others were arrested by KPK investigators on a place in Jakarta around 6:45 pm.
