REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MEDAN -- Film Censorship Board (LSF) would establish representative offices in 10 provinces in Indonesia.
"The 10 areas that are planned to have representatives of LSF are North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Bali," said a member of LSF, Mukhlis Paeni, Monday (5/10).
He explained that of the 10 provinces, there are three priority areas in 2016 namely Medan (North Sumatra) Yogyakarta, and Makassar (South Sulawesi). Until now, there was only North Sumatera who has not signed the memorandum of understanding.
"Therefore, LSF has already met North Sumatra provincial government officials to discuss the memorandum of understanding," he added.
LSF hoped the deal could be done in October. After signing, LSF Sumatra representative would be immediately formed through support of the state budget 2016 and support of North Sumatra provincial government.
"We ask for support of the provincial government in the form of buildings and civil administrative personnel," said Mukhlis.
For selection, North Sumatra provincial government was asked to choose 15 censorship officials from various circles, among others, government, cultural observers, religious leaders, academics and others. Then, the selection would be done by the Provincial Government of North Sumatra and LSF.
