REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SAMARINDA -- Governor of East Kalimantan, Awang Faroek Ishak, said that his working visit to Russia last week was in appropriate rules and already got permission from the President, through Minister of Home Affairs, Tjahjo Kumolo.

He explained, his working visit to Russia aimed to follow up cooperation agreements which was previously undertaken by former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and then continued by President Joko Widodo.

The Governor convinced the Rosatom --one of nuclear agency in Rusia-- to build nuclear power plant in East Kalimantan. In his visit, Awang Faroek also met 50 students from East Kalimantan, who are following railway technology education in Russia.

According to Awang Faroek, the results of the working visit has been reported to several ministers. One of them was about the follow-up cooperation of railway projects in East Kalimantan.

Russian Railways as potential investors agreed to change the railway project that is initially only to transport coal, into a transporter of natural resources. So that the train will also be able to bring oil palm, timber, and other natural resources.
