REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Police Headquarters stated that currently there were 204 people were named as suspects in various cases of lands and forests fires in several regions in Indonesia.
"The suspect are 204 people, consisting of 195 individual cases and nine corporate cases," said Chief of Public Information, Public Relations Division, Police Commissioner Suharsono, at Police Headquarters, Jakarta, Monday (28/9).
He said, 218 cases of forest fires have been addressed by the police. Of these, he detailed, 19 cases were still under investigation, 136 cases were under examination (consisting of 94 individual cases and 42 corporation cases), 21 cases have been handed over the first phase to the prosecutor, 24 cases have completed its files, and 18 cases have been handed over the second phase to the prosecutor.
He added that from hundreds of such cases, the Criminal Investigation Police handled four cases, Police of South Sumatera handled 34 cases, Riau Police handled 68 cases, Police of Jambi handled 18 cases, Police of Central Kalimantan handled 57 cases, Police West Kalimantan handled 25 cases, Police South Kalimantan handled 8 cases and Police of East Kalimantan handled 4 cases.
