REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Ministry of Trade launched the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Center in Jakarta, Monday (28/9). Through AEC Center, the Ministry of Trade wanted to promote the implementation of the AEC in early 2016.
The AEC Center aimed to be a source of information for local governments, businessmen, academic and the general public about market opportunities that can be achieved.
"AEC Center is necessary, so that all parties can get updates and progress of the AEC to achieve the benefits of AEC for the Indonesian economy," said Minister of Trade, Thomas Lembong, Monday (28/9).
He also said that the key to successful implementation of AEC is when people know about the benefits of the AEC. Therefore, the AEC Center can be a facility to support public knowledge about the AEC.
"A true and clear knowledge of society about the AEC is one key to successful implementation of AEC," he said.
