Death toll of Indonesian Pilgrims in Mina increased

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MECCA -- The number of Indonesian pilgrims who died in Mina incident continued to increase. From the previous total of 19 people which was announced on Sunday (27/9) morning, today the total victims were 34 people.

"Currently the number of pilgrims who died are 34 people. There is addition of 15 people," said the head of Work Area of Mecca, Arsyad Hidayat, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

Here is list of the 15 new names entered the death toll in Mina:

1. Nabana Matsen Tarif, fleet 14 Batam embarkation (BTH 14)

7. Erik Suryaman Aceng Kartika, fleet 61 Jakarta-Bekasi embarkation (JKS 61)

In identifying the victim, Hajj Committee (PPIH) of Saudi Arabia involved control team of the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah of Ministry of Religious Affairs, protection team of pilgrims which consists of members of the military and police, and representatives of Indonesia in Jeddah.

"The condition of the corpse until the fourth day have change, but still recognizable," said Arsyad.
