REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, YOGYAKARTA -- Head of National SAR Agency, Marshal F Henry Bambang Soelistyo, was feeling grateful that the ability of National SAR Agency was declared as one of the best in the world. It was conveyed at a meeting of Asia-Pacific SAR 2015 in Australia.

"Basarnas is rated as one of the best in the world, with a rating value above 90, parallel to the SAR team of developed countries such as Canada, USA, and China," he said, Monday (28/9).

According to Bambang, it was seen in the description of ratings of SAR capability over the world, which are presented in a meeting of Asia-Pacific SAR 2015 in Australia.

"Compared with other Asia's countries such as Singapore and Malaysia, Indonesia is still the best," he explained.

According to Bambang, the important point that affected high achievements of National SAR Agency, were from the performance of the SAR team that managed to evacuate the aircraft of AirAsia Indonesia QZ8501 and evacuation of victims of Air Trigana aircraft in Papua.

"Those became two important accidents," Bambang added.

Thus, countries that attended the meeting, he said, wanted to know further the secret of management of team and preparation of National SAR Agency in facing any major incident.

"They also want to know how we face the media and victims' families that are considered to be difficult by many countries," he said.

The achievements obtained by National SAR Agency really helped Indonesia to gain confidence in the realization of variety of programs such as the development mission of maritime sector.
