Indonesia and IAEA to establish nuclear security cooperation

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, VIENNA -- Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)'s meeting in Vienna, Austria, 7th to 11th September produced positive results for Indonesia.

Indonesian Ambassador to the United Nations (UN) and other international organizations in Vienna, Rachmat Budiman, as head of the Indonesian delegation, managed to encourage the strengthening of international cooperation in nuclear safety and security within the framework of the IAEA.

It was reported by Minister Counselor of Indonesian Embassy/Indonesian Permanent Representative in Vienna, Dody Kusumonegoro. He said that Rachmat encouraged the offer of cooperation in the meeting.

There were a variety of activities successfully implemented in cooperation with the IAEA. One of these activities was Site and External Events Design (SEED) in the form of training on "safety review of simulation".

In addition, there was also cooperation in the form of a workshop on "safety culture self-assessment" and other cooperation in development and strengthening of regulatory infrastructure in nuclear field.
