Soroja toll roads construction started today

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG -- Construction of Soreang-Pasir Koja (Soroja) toll roads was officially started, Thursday (10/9). The construction was expected to be completed in August 2016, before the opening of National Sports Week (PON) 2016 in Jalak Harupat Stadium, Kutawaringin, Bandung.

Groundbreaking ceremonial of Soroja toll roads was attended by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan, Regent of Bandung Dadang Naser, and Director of Citra Marga Lalu Lintas Bagus Medi as a contractor.

Basuki said, the construction of Soroja toll roads has an investment value of Rp 1.51 trillion. The toll roads was designed to have three interchanges, namely Pasir Koja, Margaasih and Katapang, and has six toll exits.

"Construction of Soroja toll roads is for equitable development of Bandung area, because of all developments still relied on North Bandung. Whereas, South Bandung also has potential to be developed," he said, in Bandung, Thursday (10/9).

The toll roads was built to connect Bandung with Jalak Harupat Stadium as the opening place for PON 2016.

Governor of West Java Ahmad Heryawan said the weakening of global economy, that was affected the national economy, should not hamper the development of infrastructure in the area. Even though, he admitted, people's purchasing power and investment was currently declining.

"The only way to overcome this crisis, is accelerating local government spending. We are demanded by the President to accelerate the absorption of the government budget," he said.
