Five foreign warships confirm to attend Sail Tomini

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Five countries have confirmed to send warships to join the parade of warships and sailing ships (sailing pass) in front of President Joko Widodo and about 10 thousand people at the peak of Sail Tomini, 19th September 2015.

"The five countries are Malaysia, who sends two warships, then China, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, who each send one warship," said Vice Kasal Admiral TNI, Widodo, Wednesday (2/9).

According to Widodo, Indonesian Navy Headquarters invited 21 countries to send warships to this grand maritime event. However, there were still five countries who confirmed its presence, but the number of country was still expected to rise in the next few days.

Besides warships, there will be Chief of Naval Staff from 20 countries who will attend the peak of Sail Tomini 2015 that will be held at Kayu Bura beach, Central Parigi, Parigi Moutong, Central Sulawesi.

The Indonesian navy will involve 24 KRI with 1,045 personnel during the event, including Hercules aircraft, Cassa aircraft and amphibious tanks, to support security and social activities of the event.
