REPUBLIKA.CO.ID,JAKARTA -- President Joko Widodo was scheduled to inaugurate the launching of first equatorial Satellite, made in Indonesia, LAPAN-A2/LAPAN-ORARI in Bogor, Thursday (3/9).
Based on the schedule, the launch of LAPAN A2 satellite will be conducted at the Center for Technology National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) in Rancabungur, Bogor.
LAPAN-A2 is a pure satellite made by Indonesia. This satellite was the successor of LAPAN A1, whose the creation was done in Germany.
LAPAN-A2 has three main missions, namely mapping the earth, the ship monitoring, and amateur communications.
The micro satellite will orbit close to equatorial, which will often across Indonesia once in 1.5 hours. This satellite has a camera with a resolution of 4 to 5 meters, with a width of different units.
