Kapolri commits to resolve TNI-Polri conflicts

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PADANG -- Chief of Indonesian Police (Kapolri) General (Pol) Badrodin Haiti committed to resolve the conflict between Indonesian Military (TNI) and Indonesian Police (Polri)

"The conflict with the military would require a complete solution," he said, in Padang, West Sumatra, Monday (31/8).

He also asked Chief of Police in each region to be proactive if there is a potential conflict between the two institutions. The leaders of the two institutions must immediately sit down together and find a solution.

"There have been talks with the commander of TNI, yesterday," he added.

He said that the conflict between TNI and Polri was just like the two brothers who were quarreled.

Previously, clashes between the police and the military occurred while a police officer secured a member of Battalion 721 in a motocross event. Then a misuderstanding occured between the two. It was witnessed by Chief of Polman, Agoen Adi Koerniawan with Pasi Ops Kodim 1402, captain inf. Martani. Both sides forgave each other.

Around 15:15 pm Prada Yuliadi who was a member of Battalion 721/Makassar was shot in permanent circuit Sport Center. The shot was allegedly carried out by a member of the Polman Police. Start from that, the members of Battalion 721/Makassar tried to retaliate by attacking police officers.
