REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani invites all the people's representatives in Parliament to life simply and not excessively. He said that this should be fulfilled as a moral principle and adhere to the current constitution.
“Simple life does not mean that we neglect progress or avoid achievements,” Muzani said during a speech at the Plenary Session of the Inauguration of the Leader of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia at Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta, Thursday (3/10/2024).
According to him, simple lifing is able to teach lessons to appreciate what one has and strengthen relationships with one another and take care of the surrounding environment. In this way, Kta Muzani, the representatives of the people can contribute to the positive values that live in society.
“With simple lifing, we focus more on the really important things like family and friendships,” Muzani said.
In addition, Muzani said, the task of MPR leadership in the future is not easy. He said that cooperation is necessary between the Leaders of the RI MPR, the faction leaders, and the Members of the Assembly of the RI as a whole.
Muzani also invited all members of the Indonesian Parliament to maintain the trust of the people by reflecting on the values that are really important for the Indonesian nation today.
Earlier, the Plenary Session of the RI Assembly at Nusantara Building, parliamentary complex, Jakarta, on Thursday, approved Ahmad Muzani from the Gerindra Party faction to become the Chairman of the Assembly of the RI for the period 2024-2029 replacing Bambang Soesatyo as the Chairman of the Assembly of the RI for the period 2019-2024.
In addition, the plenary session also approved eight other leaders of the RI MPR to be sworn in. Previously, in the period 2019—2024, Muzani served as the Deputy chairman of MPR RI.
