REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, DENPASAR -- National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Bali will rehabilitate of 2,083 drug users. Head of BNN Bali, I Putu Gede Suastawa, said the amount of drug users was based on research conducted by the University of Indonesia.
"Bali becomes target of rehabilitation of 2,083 drug users," said Suastawa in Denpasar, on Monday (24/8).
UI took the research object of 3,000,900 people aged 10-59 years old in Bali in 2014. From four million inhabitants in Bali, then 2.2 percent or about 66,785 inhabitants were using drugs.
Throughout May to August 2015, BNN Bali has been rehabilitating 433 drug addicts in Bali. Most of them wants to follow the rehabilitation because of self consciousness.
There are about 99 drug addicts in Bali who become inpatient, 282 drug addicts become outpatient, while 52 others are under assessment. BNN Bali also cooperate with a number of institutions, such as Yakeba, Two Hearts Foundation, Narcotics Penitentiary in collaboration with local general hospitals.
