REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The shooting incident that occurred in Poso, Central Sulawesi between the police and the Santoso network terrorism, did not stop the government to send the transmigrants to the region.

The Minister of Villages, Disadvantages Regions and Transmigration, Marwan Jafar, released 114 transmigrants to Poso through Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, East Java, on Friday (21/8). Release of transmigrants was carried out after the police ensured the safety of the transmigrants.

"I will continue to coordinate with the police and the military, in order to ensure the safety of the transmigrants to the transmigration areas in Saembawalati, Poso, Central Sulawesi," Marwan said, Sunday (23/8).

From Poso to the Saembawalati was still quite far. It was about three hours trip. However, the security forces promised to watch the transmigration areas.

“There is nothing to doubt. Willpower must be greater than fear, if you want a better life,” he added, in Pati, Central Java.

The 114 transmigrants were 10 families or 37 people from East Java and 15 families or 56 people from West Java. In 2015, 1,652 families have been prepared to follow transmigration program.

“The government appreciates and seeks those who want resettlement. Transmigrants should be optimistic that there is a land of hope that has been waiting to be managed," he explained.
