REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- Independence Cup, a championship created by Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Transition Team, possibly be delayed or cancelled. It was stated by the Indonesia Professional Sports Agency (BOPI).
Secretary General of BOPI, Heru Nugroho, said that the Transition Team and Kemenpora are not yet fulfilled the requirements of the championship. The deadline was already ended.
“We asked them to fill the requirements up to 5th August,” he said, Friday (7/8).
He explained that BOPI always supports the Independence Cup, because the championship held during the vacuum of PSSI. However, there are three requirements that has to be fulfilled. One of them is about who will be responsible for the Independence Cup.
“Responsibility is necessary to know who wants to be responsible if there are legal problems,” he added.
Furthermore, he stated that the operator of the Independence Cup is not clear yet. BOPI will not give permission, if the requirements are not fulfilled.
